Judy Crotts

birthday: 10-11-72
funniest/most memorable birthday: When Jeff & I were dating (this was 1996, I turned 24) he went to great lengths to get me this great present for my birthday. Back in my hometown of Schroon Lake, NY, there was an antique shop with a copy of Paradise Lost with cool illustrations by Gustave Dore that I really loved. I would go into the store to look at it, but not buy it (too expensive). So Jeff called my parents, had them get the little old man who owned the shop (but didn't open after Labor Day) to open the store and sell them the book, they shipped it to California. He took me out to a nice restaurant for dinner (cool view of LA) and gave me the book. When I didn't cry he was like "you didn't even cry or anything! I thought you would cry!" He said the same thing after our engagement...what does that mean do you suppose?
where were you born: Lewiston, Maine
brothers/sisters: 3 sisters, 1 brother
favorite food: sugar-free chocolate
favorite color: green
what I do to relax: read or play a dumb computer game
what I do for fun: read or play a dumb computer game
my biggest pet peeve: what? I have no pet peeves!
what's in your cd player right now? Allison Crowe - Secrets
something others would be suprised to know about me: I can't think of anything - I'm pretty open
and the dinner question: any five dinner guests, dead or alive: for a girls' night out - Mary Magdalene, Queen Elizabeth I, Christina Rossetti, Dorothy Sayers, Jane Austen. But they wouldn't get along.
favorite Bible verse(s): 2 Peter 3:18 is significant to me in conjunction with Jude 24-25
all time favorite books (other than Bible): too narrow a question. I was an English major. Among the top tier of favorites that come to mind are Paradise Lost - John Milton, 'Till We Have Faces - C. S. Lewis, The Golden Key - George MacDonald, and My Big Sister - Valorie Fisher
a memorable spiritual experience in your life: a chilly NY night in October, 1990, walking across a soccer field looking at the stars where I cried out for God to change my heart because I just couldn't do it. I believe that is when I was (not specifically ordo salutis) regenerated, given faith, made right before God, changed, saved. When I went into my dorm room my roommates all knew something had happened to me - but my theology at the time would have called it "re-dedication".
the most rewarding thing about your job/life: seeing my kids grow (and do and say crazy things) each and every day, seeing people at BCLR mature in faith
when I'm gone, what I want others to say about me: "Now who'll make us coffee?"
your favorite childhood pet & it's name: the beagle we had until sometime during my kindergarden year when my parents had him put to sleep while I was in school and when I came home with my friend Lisa to work on our science fair project (on bees) Butch (or Butchy-Boy as he was often called) didn't come out of his dog house. That was a really great day. Lisa just went home because I wasn't doing a science fair project on bees right then.
most embarrassing moment: how about the one where I asked someone if the person who is actually is wife was his mother? Will that suffice?
most influential person in your life (besides Jesus): Jeff
